Florida condos, waterfront home sites, commercial properties to be among 150 properties set for auction

ATLANTA, Aug. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Land on the Flint River, an oceanfront home site in Port Saint Joe, Fla., two Florida condominiums and a car wash in Gainesville, Ga., are among approximately 150 properties set to sell in a pair of back-to-back auctions Aug. 27-28. John Dixon & Associates will manage the sales, both of which will be conducted in Atlanta.

Most of the properties are concentrated in the metro Atlanta and Athens areas, with several in southeast, central and coastal Georgia and the Florida Panhandle, according to John Dixon, president of the auction company.

"We have properties currently owned by a number of different entities, with a good bit of variety – raw land, homes, commercial land, residential home sites, and some high-end estate lots," said Dixon. "There's a condominium in Crystal River, Fla., in a development that backs up to a golf course, and another one in Everglades City. We even have a package of 22 mortgages we'll be selling at auction."

Because of the number of properties being sold, he said, "We're going to spread the auction over two days. The first day will include approximately 80 acres along the Flint River in Montezuma, as well as quite a bit of focus on land, and home sites around Atlanta, Athens and North Georgia. On the second day, the 28^th, we'll be selling the Florida condominiums, as well as the Port St. Joe oceanfront site and some nice home sites in Brunswick County, Ga."
