Flywheel Sports Launches The First iOS App Exclusively For Indoor Cycling Enthusiasts Nationwide

NEW YORK, March 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Flywheel Sports, the revolutionary indoor cycling brand with 25 studios nationwide and abroad, will be launching its first iOS app this month.  Designed for iOS7, the app will allow users to buy credits, book classes, manage reservations and check performance data all from their iPhone.  Additionally, the app includes never-before-seen features including "Geo Check-In," a feature that allows users to check in for class when they are within a certain proximity to the studio, and social sharing, features that enable users to invite Facebook friends to class and share reservations with others.

Since its inception in 2010, Flywheel Sports has set itself apart with its integration of technology into fitness.  Flywheel is the only indoor cycling studio to feature the state-of-the-art TorqBoard, a proprietary technology with on-bike and in-studio displays that show riders' real-time performance data.   After each class, comprehensive data is stored and made available to riders on their "My Performance" page at flywheelsports.com, facilitating individual goal setting and additional performance tracking.

The Flywheel app, available as a free download through Apple's App Store, will enable booking for both Flywheel and FlyBarre, Flywheel's total body sculpting class.  The app will incorporate all of the core functionality of the Flywheel website, including the ability to purchase credits and book classes, but will also include new features such as:

• Geo Check-In: Allowing users to check in for class when they are within 20 minutes from the start of the class and 500 meters from their local studio. 
• The Dashboard: A control center for users' most important tasks. Displays the number of outstanding reservations and waitlists a user is on; allows one-step check-in for the next class; provides shortcuts to detailed performance data; shows the number and types of credits the user has across all regions and more.
• Social Sharing:  Includes the ability to invite Facebook friends to classes reserved and the ability to share class reservations with Facebook friends.
• Expanded Performance Data: Includes a new feature called "Class Rank" which shows exactly how a rider ranks against others in a given class.  Also includes new filters to analyze personal performance stats by class length, gender and individual metrics.

In addition, the Flywheel app enables users to add scheduled classes to their personal calendars on their iPhones.  It also features maps that help find the closest Flywheel studios based on exact location.  Finally, the app allows users to put guests directly on the waitlist for a class.
