Food Gifts Fill Up Consumers' 2014 Holiday Wish Lists

OMAHA, Neb., Nov. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Food gifts top the wish list for many consumers this holiday season according to a recent study of holiday food gift trends conducted by Omaha Steaks. The survey indicated nearly 86 percent of gift recipients would enjoy receiving a food gift with chocolate (31.42 percent), smoked meats and/or cheese basket (28.41 percent), wine (25.22 percent) and steak (24.16 percent) in the list of top choices.

With the variety of choices ranging from sweets to steaks, it's no surprise the top four reasons consumers are choosing to send food gifts include convenience (36.11 percent), gesture of thanks (35.75 percent), sure to be used (32.04 percent) and because there's something to please everyone (28.05 percent).
