CHICAGO, Jan. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- FoodMinds, a food and nutrition consulting and communications agency, has opened a new Washington, D.C. office to meet increased client demand for food and nutrition affairs, policy insights and its newest offering, Food Label Compass. The office is led by FoodMinds Co-Founder Susan Pitman, MS, RD; and Chief Science Officer Robert C. Post, Ph.D., MEd., MSc. Post recently joined the FoodMinds team after retiring from his position as a senior executive leading USDA's Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion.
"FoodMinds focuses on the intersection of nutrition affairs, science and communications; having a physical presence in the epicenter of public policy enables us to engage in the food and nutrition affairs dialogue and provide real-time, on-the-ground insights to help our clients tell a better story," Pitman said.
Located at 1001 Connecticut Avenue NW, Suite 1225 (at the corner of Connecticut and K Street), the FoodMinds office provides DC-area FoodMinds team members a physical location from which to conduct business. In particular, the office will focus on growing the agency's newest offering, Food Label Compass.
Created with Nutrition Impact LLC and EAS Consulting Group LLC, Food Label Compass offers a one-stop shop of nutrition analysis, regulatory consulting and strategic communication services to guide food and beverage companies in navigating the complexities around the upcoming FDA Nutrition Facts label overhaul.
FoodMinds is headquartered in Chicago; the DC office is its second location. Pitman and Post are joined in the new office by Elana Natker, MS, RD; Steph Saullo, MS, RD, LD; and Michelle Zhang. Across the U.S. and globally, FoodMinds has 25 employees and more than 40 experts, including nine registered dietitians on staff. FoodMinds solely focuses on the food and nutrition industry.
