Former 24 Hour Fitness exec joins Fitwall to lead franchise operations, expansion into new markets

IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Fitwall, one of the world's most innovative fitness companies, announces the addition of industry leader JoAnna Tuttle Bergfeld as its Director of Studio Operations.
Bergfeld is responsible for providing strategic operational oversight of the studio business and valuable support to the franchises' sales and marketing initiatives.

Most recently, Bergfeld was President of elements®, a popular fitness and lifestyle brand for women. Prior to that, Bergfeld spent 25 years with 24 Hour Fitness where her business acumen helped expand six clubs to more than 420, creating one of the largest fitness brands in the country with $1.2 billion in gross market capitalization. Bergfeld was also the Chairman of the Helping Hands Grants Committee, an emergency relief organization set up for 24 Hour Fitness employees in need.

Fitwall studios offer high-intensity interval training sessions that deliver strength, cardiovascular fitness and flexibility all in 40 minutes. Members check in on an iPad and click into the Fitwall using a Bluetooth heart rate monitor, known as a peanut. Fitwall utilizes a propriety metric called the FIT (Fitwall Intensity Training) Factor, a data calculation that helps clients use the technology to track progress and maximize results throughout the session.
Fitwall currently operates studios in San Diego and Newport Beach with franchised locations in Los Angeles, Detroit, Denver (opening February 16) and Scottsdale (opening February 16).
