Former Fortune 500 President and COO Felipe Alvarez Joins Perseus Telecom Board

NEW YORK, May 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Perseus Telecom, a global provider of connectivity, today announced that Felipe J. Alvarez has joined its Board of Directors. Former President and COO of Sidera Networks, Alvarez brings over 25 years of experience in both entrepreneurial start-ups and Fortune 500 companies to the Perseus board.

The addition of Alvarez to the Perseus Board of Directors comes on the heels of Alex Viall joining the board in December 2011.

Prior to Sidera Networks, Felipe was President of RCN Metro Optical Networks, the telecoms business unit for RCN Corp, where he was part of the management team that successfully took the company private. Previously, he was Chief Operating Officer at Con Edison Communications, where he played a leading role in the development and implementation of the network and its operational infrastructure. While at Con Edison, he helped drive the firm's penetration of Tier One financial services firms. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from NYU and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from The City College of New York.
