Former NFIB Legislative Affairs Manager Ashley Fingarson Joins alliantgroup's Washington Office

HOUSTON, Dec. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- alliantgroup is proud to announce the addition of Ashley Fingarson, former Manager of Legislative Affairs at the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), to the firm's Washington national office. In her new role as alliantgroup's Director of Legislative Affairs, Fingarson will continue advocating for the rights of small and midsized businesses, ensuring that their voice is heard in Congress with respect to legislation and tax policy.

Fingarson has held a number of policy and advocacy roles during her career. As the Manager of Legislative Affairs for NFIB from 2012-2014, Fingarson served as the organization's chief liaison to the U.S. Senate, working with congressional members on tax, budget, immigration, labor and other key policy issues. Prior to her tenure with NFIB, Fingarson was a legislative assistant for U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson and advised the senator on major budget and tax policy issues.

From 2009-2011, Fingarson was the Director of Legislative Affairs for the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), a national construction trade association representing nearly 21,000 chapter members from all specialties within the U.S. construction industry. While with ABC, Fingarson helped to introduce bipartisan legislation to positively reform the tax code for small construction contractors. She also organized a coalition that successfully added an amendment to the Dodd-Frank Act requiring the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to engage small businesses with its regulatory process. She has held a prior post with the Office of Advocacy for the Small Business Administration and was the Deputy Communications Director for former U.S. Representative Denny Rehberg. She began her career on a fellowship from Montana State University with the U.S. Senate Finance Committee.
