Former NYSE Policymaker Daniel M. Labovitz Joins Oyster Consulting as Managing Director
Financial services consulting firm responds to increased spotlight on trade sector, hires former head of NYSE Regulation Office of General Counsel
RICHMOND, Va., June 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Oyster Consulting announced today it has hired Daniel M. Labovitz to be the Managing Director of its New York office. The move continues Oyster's ascent as a regulatory and compliance leader, heightening the firm's ability to help broker-dealers and exchanges enhance controls and respond to increasing ESC and FINRA expectations regarding trading and conduct rules. The new office will be Oyster's 14th U.S. location.
Labovitz is the former head of NYSE Regulation's Office of General Counsel, where he was responsible for writing and interpreting the NYSE's trading rules and supervising FINRA's regulation of NYSE members. Labovitz most recently served as Principal of Crowley Labovitz Consulting LLC, where he was the independent regulatory auditor for a major exchange, and advised exchanges and broker-dealers in emerging and frontier markets on regulatory issues. He also served as a Senior Trial Counsel for the NYSE's Enforcement Division.
