Former pro football player turned full-time mathematician, John Urschel, to deliver keynote at educator conference

DALLAS, Nov. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- John Urschel, former offensive lineman for the Baltimore Ravens turned full-time Ph.D. candidate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), will deliver the the keynote speech at the 30^th annual Teachers Teaching with Technology (T³) International Conference. The conference will be held March 2-4, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. Urschel will share his personal journey of where a love of math has taken him and where it can take today's students. The 6'3", 305-pound former lineman recently did the unexpected by hanging up his football cleats to focus on his doctorate in Applied Mathematics full-time. "Not every football player can retire at the young age of 26, but thankfully, my love of math opens up a variety of career options for me off of the football field," said Urschel. "I'm excited to be a part of the T³ International Conference this year to help inspire teachers to return to their classrooms and get their kids to love math."
