FORT MYERS, Fla., March 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Fox Electronics, a leading global supplier of frequency control solutions, now offers the widest range of AEC-Q200-qualified crystal oscillators, which meet the stringent stress test requirements set for passive components used in automotive applications. The new oscillators are available with a frequency range of 2 MHz up to 135 MHz, -40 degrees C to +85 degrees C, with 2 MHz to 48 MHz available from -40 degrees C to +125 degrees C.
Certified to AEC grades 1-4 as well as to the ISO/TS-16949 specification, Fox's FA5xx and FA4xxx series withstand the rigorous environmental and operational conditions to which automobiles are subjected.
Due to their compliance with these stringent industry testing parameters, the oscillators are ideal for use in a variety of automotive safety and diagnostic applications, where reliability is critical to protecting the occupants. These include tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), navigation, antilock brake systems (ABS), air bags and proximity sensors. They can also be cost-effectively used for in-car multimedia applications, such as entertainment systems and back up cameras.
Frequency stabilities are as tight as +/-25 ppm with aging of just +/-5 ppm per year at 25 degrees C. Standard configurations include package sizes of 7 mm x 5 mm and 5 mm x 3.2 mm in voltages of 1.8 V, 2.5 V or 3.3 V, with more options available upon request.
The seam-sealed oscillators are RoHS- and REACH-compliant with gold terminations. Both series feature an output load of 15 pF (HCMOS), a start-up time of 10 mS and a standby current of 10 uA as well as output disable and enable times of 100 nS and 10 mS, respectively. Output symmetry is 40% to 60%, with 45% to 55% available upon request.
Pricing for a FA4100-25.000 MHz 7 x 5 mm 3.3 V 100 ppm -40 to 125C is $0.95 in quantities of 50,000. Delivery is 8 weeks ARO.
