Fox Rent A Car Announces Acquisition of JustShareIt Car Sharing Platform
Fox launches new integrated cloud platform to support new business models for car rental
LOS ANGELES, March 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Fox Rent-A-Car, the fifth largest car rental company in the US, announced today the final acquisition of a car sharing platform developed by Silicon Valley based JustShareIt, a pioneer in car sharing technology.
JustShareIt (JSI), a cloud-based and mobile friendly peer-to-peer car sharing platform allows individuals to rent or share cars directly from individual car owners. Fox and JSI development teams have worked the past 12 months to integrate the two platforms to offer an enhanced and seamless rental experience to better support rapidly evolving mobile enriched lifestyles.
Fox's new mobile experience enables customers to reserve a car, bypass the rental counter and proceed directly to the car. Customers will then choose their vehicle and drive off.
Initially, this new seamless service is only available at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), but it will become available in most Fox corporate locations within a few months.

Once the fleet is directly integrated with the new Fox Rental platform, Fox members will be able to pick up and drop off cars at a wide variety of decentralized locations, entirely independent from Fox's centralized rental locations.
