Frito-Lay Joins Forces with Zynga to Bring Five Million Online In-game Prizes to Walmart Customers

PLANO, Texas, March 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PepsiCo's Frito-Lay North America division today announced a partnership with Zynga, the world's leading provider of social game services and creator of games including CityVille, Words With Friends, and FarmVille, to offer fans various in-game virtual items with the purchase of specially marked Frito-Lay snacks, including Lay's Classic potato chips, Doritos Nacho Cheese flavored tortilla chips, Ruffles Cheddar and Sour Cream flavored potato chips, Cheetos Crunchy cheese flavored snacks and Funyuns onion flavored rings. The promotion, which runs from March 1 to April 12, 2012, will be featured on five million bags available at more than 3,400 Walmart stores nationwide.

As part of the promotion, fans will receive exclusive virtual items in three participating Zynga games – FarmVille, CastleVille and CityVille - by redeeming on-pack codes from specially marked Frito-Lay products on the participating game's Game Card redemption tab on Facebook.  Fans who redeem on-pack codes from four different specially marked Frito-Lay snack brands and a $15 or $25 Zynga Game Card in the same game will receive an exclusive super item.  Details for the promotion can be found at www.zynga.com/crunch.

The Zynga Game Cards and the specially marked Frito-Lay snacks will be available on in-store Frito-Lay/Zynga displays near the check lanes of participating Walmart stores across the country. Zynga has more than 240 million monthly active players.
