Full Sail University in Collaboration with The Department of Veterans Affairs Introduces Adaptive Technology-Focused "Greenlight Hall" to the 38th Annual National Veterans Wheelchair Games

WINTER PARK, Fla., July 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Full Sail University, in an educational collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs, is proud to announce the inclusion of the first-ever "Greenlight Hall" as part of the 38^th Annual National Veterans Wheelchair Games. Greenlight Hall will be held in the Orange County Convention Center during this year's Wheelchair Games, taking place in Orlando, FL from July 30 to August 4.

Greenlight Hall is a collaborative effort between Full Sail University and the Department of Veterans Affairs, designed to showcase adaptive technology for paralyzed and disabled veterans. Through a variety of interactive exhibits provided by companies dedicated to developing innovative technology solutions, veteran athletes competing in the Games, as well as attendees, are able to experience a wide range of virtual experiences made possible by technology, from VR gaming to virtual hang gliding and more.

Technology demonstrations and vendors on display at the inaugural Greenlight Hall powered by Full Sail University will include, but are not limited to:

• VA Virtual Medical Center - The VA Virtual Medical Center is an interactive learning environment for patients, providers and staff. The VA Virtual Medical Center makes it easy for veterans and providers from around the world to connect and share information efficiently and effectively inside a virtual world. The VA Virtual Medical Center is implementing a vision for a Virtual Healthcare Campus for our Veterans.

• Microsoft Xbox Adaptive Controller – A custom controller experience that is uniquely yours. Designed primarily to meet the needs of gamers with limited mobility, the Xbox Adaptive Controller features large programmable buttons and connects to external switches, button, mounts, and joysticks to help make gaming more accessible.

• Full Sail University's Simulation and Visualization Virtual Hang Glider Experience – A flight simulation unlike any other. About the 38^th National Veterans Wheelchair Games:
The Orlando VA Medical Center and Paralyzed Veterans of America Central Florida Chapter are this year's host of the 38^th National Veterans Wheelchair Games. Attracting more than 700 athletes and 4,000 volunteers each year, the National Veterans Wheelchair Games is the largest annual wheelchair and rehabilitation multi-sports event in the world. The Games serve as a rehabilitation and wheelchair sports program empowering Veterans with spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, amputations and other neurological injuries to live a more active and healthy lifestyle through sports and recreation.
