GAC Motor's GS4 wins "Best Production Car Design in China" from CAR STYLING
TOKYO, July 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- GS4, the signature SUV model developed by China's best automaker GAC Motor, has recently been named "the Best Production Car Design in China" by leading international vehicle design magazine CAR STYLING on June 25 in Tokyo. It is the first time that the coveted award has honored a Chinese auto brand, demonstrating GAC Motor's cutting-edged techniques and professional spirit in the modern manufacturing industry.
The annual award is widely regarded as the most prestigious recognition to automakers that create products capturing attention and enthusiasm of vehicle buyers in China.
CAR STYLING appraised the GS4 as a Chinese homegrown star in the limelight of the SUV market. According to the magazine, seven Chinese brands were among the top 10 SUVs in the Chinese market in 2015, while GS4 distinguished itself with a remarkable market presence. Sales of the GS4 have been over 20,000 units per month since October last year. In May, the model recorded a sales volume of more than 26,000 vehicles, representing a 329.5% increase year-on-year.
CAR STYLING, considered as 'the bible of car design', represents the most rigorous assessment on car production techniques. The magazine's award recipients are determined based on strict peer review and consumer perception data from a comprehensive study.
