Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm Makes Annual Distribution from Charitable Gift Fund
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Garfinkel Immigration Law Firm launched a charitable fund in 2017, in commemoration of its 20th anniversary, to return a portion of its profits to the local community. The Fund supports nonprofit organizations committed to pluralism and multiculturalism, and especially those nonprofits that also serve the economically marginalized. The 2018 Fund beneficiaries, nominated by members of the Garfinkel Immigration staff, include RAICES (www.raicestexas.org), Care Ring (www.careringnc.com), and Refugee Support Services (www.refugeesupportservices.org).
RAICES (Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services) is a Texas-based nonprofit that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services supporting underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees. Care Ring provides health services for individuals who are challenged in accessing high quality and affordable health care. Refugee Support Services (RSS) assists newly-arriving refugees through educational programs designed to promote refugee self-sufficiency.
In addition to its financial commitment, Garfinkel Immigration will also contribute volunteer hours in spring 2019 to Refugee Support Services.
