Gerber Launches Photo Search 2013

FLORHAM PARK, N.J., Sept. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Gerber announced today the launch of the Gerber Photo Search 2013. Starting today, parents or legal guardians of children up to 48 months of age are encouraged to upload a favorite recent photo of their children on the Gerber Facebook page for a chance to win the Grand Prize – $50,000 and the chance for their child to star in a future advertisement for Gerber. In addition, six Milestone winners will be selected based on Facebook fan votes. Photo entries are being accepted now through Oct. 27.

In 2012, Gerber Photo Search garnered more than 308,000 entrees, and the Grand Prize winning entry featured Mary Jane Montoya from Fresno, California. Previous Grand Prize winning entries were from Ohio and Missouri. 

HOW TO ENTER

Parents or legal guardians can visit the Gerber Facebook page and upload a picture now through Oct. 27. Photos should be taken no more than 30 days before submission. This year, Gerber is making it easier than ever to enter from your smart phone or tablet and photos can be submitted directly from Instagram or Flickr. Once uploaded, parents or legal guardians can then share their entries with their Facebook friends along with a funny caption.

GRAND PRIZE

At the end of the entry period, a panel of judges will set out to find photos of children from birth to preschool age that demonstrate visual appeal, expressiveness and consistency with Gerber's heritage. The child's photo that best meets these criteria will be selected as the Grand Prize winner and the winning parent will receive a $50,000 cash prize (plus $15,000, which can be used for taxes associated with award acceptance) and their child will have an opportunity to appear in a future Gerber advertisement.

MILESTONE PRIZES

In addition to the Grand Prize winner, six Milestone winners will be selected from each Milestone category – Birth+, Supported Sitter, Sitter, Crawler, Toddler and Toddler 2+. Fans of the Gerber Facebook page can vote once per Milestone category per day during the voting period, which will be announced on the Facebook page. Milestone winners will be determined based on Facebook fan votes.

Each Milestone category winner will win a 32GB Apple^® iPad^® with Retina display and Wi-Fi/cellular capabilities, an Apple^® iPad^®Smart Case^® cover, and a $150 Apple^®iTunes^® gift card (total value $1,000), which can be used to download tools and games.
