Step 1:  Part hair into four equal ponytails and tie with scrunchies.

Step 2: Using a fine-tooth comb, gently tease ends of hair leaving only half of the hair to color.  Tease to same general area in all four sections (bottom of ear or below depending on length of hair) for a balanced look.

Step 3:  Lightly apply color to the teased ends and smooth with fingers, making sure each section is coated. 

Step 4: Let the color sit according to package instructions. Afterwards, remove scrunchies and then shampoo and condition hair.
