Giant Food Kicks Off 2017-2018 A+ School Rewards Program

LANDOVER, Md., Sept. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Giant Food of Landover, Md. announced today open registration for its annual A+ School Rewards program for the 2017-2018 school year. The annual fundraiser allows customers to earn funds for up to two local schools with every qualified Giant food grocery store purchase. Since 1989, Giant Food has donated more than $96 million to area schools throughout the communities it serves. Last year's program generated $2 million in donations for 1,493 public and private schools throughout Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Delaware, and 18 schools received over $10,000 each.

Registration is now open and the program will run from October 6, 2017- March 15, 2018. A+ School Rewards are accrued with each qualified purchase made by customers using their Giant cards. Customers can sign up and designate up to two schools in their local community online at www.giantfood.com/aplus . Customers who designated schools during last year's program do not need to re-designate their school(s), but are encouraged to confirm their information by logging into their online account.

The program is open to everyone and customers do not need to have a child in school to get involved. Customers can sign up to support a friend or family member's school or another school of their choice. There is no limit as to how schools may use their A+ School Rewards funds. In previous years, schools have used their funds for technology, scholarships, school programs, field trips, playgrounds and other needs that ultimately support their students' educational experience.
