Gigamon Hires David de Simone as Vice President of Engineering

MILPITAS, Calif., Oct. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Gigamon^®, a leading provider of Traffic Visibility Networking solutions, announced today that David de Simone has joined the company as Vice President of Engineering. De Simone will oversee the teams responsible for product design and development, quality and worldwide support.

De Simone was most recently senior vice president of product and technology at Blue Arc/Hitachi Data Systems where he was responsible for the R&D and the Office of the CTO and led a global team of approximately 125 developers. Prior to this, he was a senior vice president at Blue Coat Systems where he headed R&D, product and operations, overseeing its growth from a team of about 60 developers to a team of over 400 delivering solutions across multiple markets. Previously, De Simone was a vice president for platform engineering at Brocade Communications, vice president and director of engineering for Compaq and Tandem Computer Systems, and director of engineering, manufacturing and quality at MIPS Computer Systems. De Simone graduated with a BS in Engineering from the University of California, Davis with Highest Honors.
