Gilbane Building Company Leadership Gives Back to the Community

HOUSTON, June 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Gilbane Building Company, a global leader in construction services, made good on their company tagline of "building more than buildings."  On Tuesday, June 9^th as part of their annual meeting, the leadership team from across the country gathered to participate in a team challenge benefiting the local community.  Nearly 80 Gilbane team members were divided into teams for the bike build activity.  The teams were then challenged with completing 75 bicycles that would be presented to two local charities – Interfaith Ministries of the Woodlands and CASA (Child Advocates of Montgomery County).  These organizations provide services to children and families throughout Montgomery County, Texas.

"We wanted to give back to the community," said Dan Gilbane, Senior Vice President, at Gilbane Building Company. "Bikes represent freedom, and we thought this would be a great way for these kids to kick off summer."

Each bike was delivered with a hand written note attached to the handle bars with messages of encouragement from members of the leadership team. Supporting the Gilbane Cares philosophy, each rider received a bike helmet to promote safe riding habits, as safety is a top priority for Gilbane.
