Giving of Life Offers More Than $150,000 in Ministry Grants With New Donor Partnerships

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In this second year of Giving of Life, the Web-based grant initiative has created new opportunities for generous donors to host financial campaigns in support of specific ministry categories.

Along with Giving of Life funding, this new donor partnership will provide more than $150,000 in grants by June 4, 2012, compared to the $114,000 given to 20 faith-based organizations in 2011. During that time, more than 700 ministries applied for grants and more than 180,000 votes were cast.

This year, Giving of Life founders Dan Maclellan and Russell Courtney of The SoulCare Project, and Kerry Bural, principal and founder of The Resonate Group, are gearing up for growth. The "first season" will run from Feb. 28 to May 22 and will be followed by other grant seasons this year.

"Every day small ministries impact millions of lives," said Maclellan. "We are passionate about encouraging these organizations to share their inspiring stories of personal and community transformation."

Any 501c3 ministry with an annual budget of $4 million or less may apply. Grant recipients will each be awarded a minimum of $10,000. Individuals are encouraged to make donations of any size at GivingOfLife.com. All donations to Giving of Life—over $250—are tax deductible.

Though not all ministries receive grants, each receives exposure and promotion through social media outlets, creating the potential for new relationships, partnerships and networking opportunities. Giving of Life is also premiering a blog to increase visibility for participating ministries.
