Global Disability Inclusion Announces Partnership with FTL Moda and Introduces New Brand Ambassador
In line with its progressive employment strategies, the consultancy firm aims to diversify New York Fashion Week (NYFW) with models with disabilities
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla., Feb. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Global Disability Inclusion, a leading consultancy firm that designs and develops comprehensive disability employment and inclusion strategies for Fortune 500 companies and U.S. Federal contractors, will once again join forces with FTL Moda for NYFW to increase the diversity and visibility of models with disabilities. Aligned with its dedication to changing the perceptions of beauty in the fashion industry, Global Disability Inclusion also announced its new brand ambassador, Shaholly Ayers, a congenital amputee fashion model.
Through the partnerships, Global Disability Inclusion aims to raise awareness around the importance, as well as the benefits, of building and sustaining workplace programs designed for employing people with disabilities. Ayers, who has an impressive inclusion story herself, beat the odds by becoming one of America's most dynamic models. Featured in GQ, US Weekly, Glamour.com and the Nordstrom catalogue, she is the first-ever amputee to walk in NYFW without a prosthetic. "I am honored to be a part of Global Disability Inclusion's mission," said Ayers, "It's going to be an exciting year, both off and on the runway, to continue changing the way the world perceives disability."
"Once we met Shaholly at NYFW last year, we knew she would be the perfect match for our firm," said Meg O'Connell, President of Global Disability Inclusion. "Her persistency, her passion to go after her dreams and to be able to position herself as a dynamic rising model in the fashion industry is incredible. We are excited to have her in our Global Disability Inclusion family and share our projects with the world."
The FTL MODA fashion show, which will celebrate the fashion house's 10th year anniversary with a new production for FW2016, will be held on February 15 at 6:30pm. Email [email protected] to RSVP for a spectacular new chapter.
