Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA) welcomes new chair, 3 MSPs to board of directors

Scott Barlow assumes board leadership; Carrie Green, Peter Melby and Kimberly Penn named directors for the IT channel's only vendor-neutral, nonprofit association

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill., April 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA), the nonprofit membership community connecting and representing the worldwide IT channel, has announced election results for its 2025-2026 board of directors, naming Scott Barlow, chief evangelist and global head of community, Sophos, Inc., as the new chair and electing three MSPs as new board members.

The newly elected board brings a wealth of experience, dedication and passion for advancing the GTIA mission. The new term begins May 1, 2025.

Barlow succeeds outgoing chair Tracy Pound, managing director, Prizm Solutions Ltd., Maximity Limited, who becomes immediate past chair.

Elected as vice chairs are Quy Nguyen, founder and CEO, Allyance Communications Inc., and Rob Rae, corporate vice president of communities and ecosystem, Pax8.

Three individuals were elected as board members for the first time:

• Carrie Green, senior vice president of operations, Alt-Tech Inc.
• Peter Melby, CEO, New Charter Technologies
• Kimberly Penn, president, Webtropolis

Green has helped shape Alt-Tech, based in Sherwood Park, Alberta, into a leading MSP and is a co-founder of CanITcon and currently serves as the chair of the GTIA North America MSP Interest Group for GTIA. In 2024, she received the GTIA North America Community Leadership Award at the association's Communities and Councils Forum and North America Spotlight Awards in Chicago.

Melby leads New Charter Technologies, a Denver-based MSP platform with over $300 million in annual revenue and 1,300 employees. He is the founder and former CEO of Denver-based Greystone Technology, where his tenure earned seven Inc. 5000 recognitions and nine Top Workplace awards.

Penn is the president of Webtropolis, a Houston-based technical auditing firm. She is also the founder and president of Professor Drones, the chief strategist at Women and Drones, and entrepreneur in residence at both Grambling State University and Houston Community College. She has previously served on GTIA's Industry Advisory Councils and as a panelist at ChannelCon. 

Continuing their terms as GTIA board members are Steven Capper, chief digital information officer, Carnival UK; Toni Clayton-Hine, chief marketing officer, EY Americas; Jason Magee, CEO, Cynet Security; Joanna Riley, CEO and founder, Censia; and John Scola, global vice president, partner ecosystem success, SAP. 

John C. Malonson, senior cybersecurity manager, Raytheon Technologies, and Jabu Dayton, founder and CEO, Jabu HR, Inc., completed their board service.
