Globe Life And Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation Present Grants To China Spring Youth Athletic Association And YMCA Of Central Texas
WACO, Texas, Feb. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Globe Life And Accident Insurance Company and the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation presented grants in the amount of $10,920 to the China Spring Youth Athletic Association of China Spring, TX and $5000 to the YMCA of Central Texas in Waco on Tuesday, January 27th. The presentations took place at the Doris Miler Family YMCA, 1020 Elm Street in Waco.
The China Spring Youth Athletic Association will use the funds towards replacing bleachers and providing lighting for one of its ballparks. The YMCA of Central Texas will use the funds toward the expansion of its t-ball and coach pitch programs.
The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation instituted the Grant Program in 2012 as another means to promote the growth and development of youth baseball and softball. As part of its partnership with the Rangers, Globe Life is making a substantial commitment to support youth baseball and softball programs in the Rangers' five-state territory by joining with the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation in the grant partnership program.
Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation Executive Director Karin Morris, and the Rangers caravan participants, current Ranger and former Baylor pitcher Shawn Tolleson, and Rangers radio voice Eric Nadel, were on hand for Tuesday's presentations.

Twelve grants were awarded and announced in September 2014. The checks for those grants are being presented at various stops on the Rangers' 2015 Winter Caravan.
Organizations were asked to complete a proposal describing how funding from the grant would allow them to give youth in their area the opportunity to play either baseball or softball. The winners were selected based on need and the ability of the proposed program to improve baseball programs in their local areas. FOX Sports Southwest helped to promote the grant program throughout the Rangers entire television territory.
