MONTREAL, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Glycovax Pharma today announced the appointment of Cédric Héroux as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Thierry Cyr-Lafleur as Director of Commercial Development. The addition of these two executives will help Glycovax accelerate the execution, industrialization and commercialization of its technologies while strengthening its position within the Canadian and international life sciences ecosystem.
An Experienced Executive to Lead Glycovax's Scale-Up
Cédric Héroux brings extensive leadership and execution experience that will be instrumental in Glycovax's next phase of development. A recognized executive and entrepreneur known for his strategic vision and ability to transform organizations, Cédric has more than 20 years of experience in management, manufacturing operations, business development and general management within technology-driven and highly regulated environments.
The former Chief Executive Officer of Biodextris, he has also held senior leadership positions at Groupe PARIMA, Essilor Canada and DALS Lighting. His experience spans biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical technologies and advanced manufacturing. Working with multidisciplinary teams, he has contributed to the development, industrialization and manufacturing of next-generation vaccines and therapeutics.
As Chief Operating Officer, Cédric will play a central role in executing Glycovax's strategy, structuring its operations and translating its scientific and technological assets into industrial and commercial capabilities.
"Glycovax has outstanding assets and a business model that offers multiple growth opportunities. My role is to bring the operational vision, organizational structure and execution capabilities required to turn this potential into tangible results. We have an opportunity to build a Canadian biotechnology company with international reach," said Cédric Héroux, Chief Operating Officer of Glycovax.
From Clinical Development to Commercial Growth
A pharmacologist by training, Thierry Cyr-Lafleur already has an in-depth understanding of Glycovax's technologies and scientific environment. Before joining the company, he contributed as a contractor to the clinical development of Glycovax's GVX-002 vaccine. His knowledge of the company's science and clinical development activities will be a valuable asset in his new commercial role.
As Director of Commercial Development, Thierry will be responsible for identifying and developing partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, vaccine developers, research centres and other life sciences stakeholders.
His mandate will be to translate Glycovax's scientific and technological expertise into collaboration, partnership and commercialization opportunities.
"I first came to know Glycovax through its science, and I can now apply my experience to the company's commercial development by building bridges between our technologies, industry needs and the partners capable of accelerating their development," said Thierry Cyr-Lafleur, Director of Commercial Development.
A Stronger Team Supporting a Distinctive Biotechnology Model
These appointments come as Glycovax advances a business model that extends beyond that of a company built around a single vaccine program. Glycovax is developing next-generation carbohydrate-based conjugate vaccines, its GlycoForge technology platform and strategic components for the industry, including the CRM197 carrier protein and the SLA adjuvant.
Together, these capabilities create multiple avenues for value creation, including the advancement of proprietary programs, the commercialization of strategic components, scientific collaborations, industrial partnerships and the development of technology-platform opportunities.
Strengthening Strategic Biotechnology Capabilities in Canada
For Glycovax, this next phase is about more than the growth of a single company. Its ambition is to build a Canadian organization capable of bringing together talent, proprietary technologies, scientific expertise, industrialization and commercial capabilities, while collaborating with the companies, researchers, institutions and governments that make up Canada's life sciences ecosystem.
"Cédric and Thierry exemplify exactly what we are building at Glycovax: a team of exceptional and complementary talent united around science and technologies with significant value-creation potential. Glycovax is not built around a single product. We are developing an integrated model that brings together proprietary product development programs, a technology platform, strategic components and industrialization capabilities. Our ambition is to build a leading Canadian biotechnology company and expand the international reach of its technologies," concluded Dany Valiquette, President and Chief Executive Officer of Glycovax.
