Governor Corbett: Gardner Denver to Create 40 Jobs in Blair County

Location Selected to Better Serve Rapid Growth in Marcellus Shale Industry

HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett announced today that Gardner Denver, Inc.'s Engineered Products Group will locate a new Aftermarket Service Center in Antis Township, creating at least 40 new jobs.

In June of 2010, Gardner Denver relocated its corporate headquarters from Illinois to Chester County. Gardner Denver's current expansion will be located in Antis Township, Blair County, to respond to the company's rapid growth in the natural gas industry. The 70,000-square-foot facility will manufacture fluid ends used in pressure pumps and will provide onsite service to its customers in the Marcellus Shale region. The $10 million project will create at least 40 new jobs within three years.  

The project was coordinated by the Governor's Action Team, or GAT, a group of economic development professionals who work directly with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania. GAT provides site selection assistance, coordinates the involvement of other state agencies as needed, and packages the appropriate economic development funding for the project.

Gardner Denver received a $218,000 funding offer from the Department of Community and Economic Development, including a $200,000 Pennsylvania First grant and $18,000 in job training assistance.
