HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett and First Lady Susan Corbett cordially invite the public to join them in celebrating the beginning of the holiday season at the Capitol on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m., on the front steps of the Main Capitol Building in Harrisburg for the evening lighting of the Capitol Christmas Tree and to join in Christmas caroling.
"This year's tree lighting really captures the true essence of the holiday: bringing families together," Governor Corbett said. "By holding the ceremony in the evening and having a time of Christmas caroling, we're hoping to make this year's event fun, festive and more family-oriented with something everyone can enjoy."
Governor Corbett will deliver the holiday message and lead the countdown and lighting of the Capitol Christmas Tree.
The Hanover High School Victorian Singers will be on hand to provide musical selections and lead the caroling. The 15-member vocal group specializes in singing a cappella and dress in Victorian-period garb.
