Governor Rendell Orders Flags at Capitol and in Northampton County to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of Cpl. Joshua A. Harton
HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Edward G. Rendell today ordered all U.S. and Pennsylvania flags in the Capitol Complex and on commonwealth facilities in Northampton County to be flown at half-staff in honor of U.S. Army Cpl. Joshua A. Harton of Bethlehem.
Authorities said Cpl. Harton, 23, was killed Sept. 18 during a combat ambush in Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 6th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) in Fort Drum, N.Y. He also had served a tour of duty in Iraq.
Flags will fly at half-staff from Sept. 28 until sunset on Sept. 30.
