In WPF, developers can improve the look and navigation of their apps with the modern, minimalistic simplified ribbon enhancement for ComponentOne. The new control design, influenced by the Microsoft Office 365 ribbon, provides a single-line collapsed state or a three-line ribbon-like appearance. It is fully customizable by style and button choices. There is also a powerful new control wizard for ASP.NET MVC. With newly-enhanced scaffolders, the control wizard can be used to configure controls when not using Entity Framework and generate code for a C1 MVC control. WinForms updates feature a new Material Theme Designer sample that allows developers to set the primary and accent colors of Material theme and save/load them in C1 themes format. DataFilter, a powerful UI addition, has also been added to provide an easy, commerce-like filter to accompany any data-aware control. This feature is in beta and we are looking forward to developer feedback.

In v3 2018, ComponentOne UWP Edition controls are available via NuGet for the first time. NuGet is a free and open source package manager designed specifically for the Microsoft development community and offers easy access to new libraries, quick updates to existing ones, and dependency resolution. C1Icon is a new object within 2018 v3 that is used with FlexGrid. This makes it easier to customize icons available to make an older application feel more modern. This allows developers to specify their own image, font character, or use a build-in template to change the appearance of the icons found in the data grid.
