Greenlight Networks to Acquire Loop Internet

Accelerates Fiber-to-the-Home Expansion across Northeastern Pennsylvania

SCRANTON, Pa., July 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenlight Networks, a leading fiber-to-the-home internet provider, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of Loop Internet, a locally-owned and operated fiber internet provider headquartered in Scranton, PA.

In April, Greenlight announced its expansion into Pennsylvania to build fiber internet networks in both the Northeast and South-Central regions of the state. The acquisition of Loop Internet will significantly expand Greenlight's presence in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area and accelerate the deployment of its state-of-the-art fiber network.

Loop Internet was founded in 2015 in Wilkes-Barre, PA by an area resident frustrated by poor internet access within the community.  Over the past decade the company has grown to provide fiber internet services in parts of Wilkes-Barre, Mountain Top, Scranton, and Kingston; with several neighboring communities under construction and coming online soon.

The transaction is expected to close later this year, pending regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
