Greycon Suite Cuts 20% Off Time To Solve Trim Problems Using Gurobi Optimizer

LONDON, Feb. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Greycon, a world leader in scheduling and execution for the paper, printing, film and nonwovens industries, has chosen Gurobi as the optimiser for their new Greycon Suite version 8.0 and GreyconMill release 2.5SR2, which were released on 14^th February.

The new release's main highlight is the reduction in the time taken to solve difficult trim problems by an average of more than 20% compared to previous versions. This performance increase is due to the adoption of the Gurobi (www.gurobi.com) mathematical optimisation library. This increase in speed applies to all trim optimisation engines across the Greycon suite of products, including X-Trim, opt-Studio and GreyconMill.
