Guardian Group Awarded Non-Profit of the Year and People's Choice at Bend Chamber's Annual SAGE Awards
Acknowledgement of the Impact of this National Counter Sex-Trafficking Organization
BEND, Oregon, September 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --
The Bend Chamber named Guardian Group as Non-Profit of the Year and also presented the group its People's Choice award at the annual SAGE Business Awards last week.
Guardian Group is only the second organization to claim two awards in SAGE history. Its mission is to prevent and disrupt the sex trafficking of women and children while enabling partners to identify victims and predators in the United States. A veteran-operated nonprofit which utilizes the skills and knowledge of elite former military, Guardian Group is engaged in developing a strategic solution to combat sex trafficking in the United States. The past few years of tireless work in this space culminated in twin honors at the SAGE Business Awards.
Guardian Group's strategy is two-fold. Offensively, the team acts as a force multiplier for law enforcement by providing in-house tactical training and consulting to empower them to relentlessly pursue predators. Defensively, the organization equips the hospitality industry with the information and response protocol through the Guardian Seal® Recognition and Response Training. This training recently became the preferred human-trafficking training for California Hotel & Lodging Association (CH&LA).
The organization is also on target to achieve additional milestones early next year. Guardian Group introduced the Sealed City Initiative in July and is well on the way to reaching their first goal of having 100% of the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) Response Team trained, as well as 50% of law enforcement and hotels in Bend, by January of 2019. The team has begun work on this same initiative in Douglas County, Oregon.
As a national non-profit, the team travels often to bring training across the United States. Chief Operating Officer Jeff Tiegs will present at the upcoming Nevada Hotel and Lodging Security Conference in Las Vegas and the Orlando Human Trafficking Summit.
