SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GuildMaster, Inc. (Pink Sheets: GLDU), a recognized leader in the home accents industry is banking on an industry turnaround with a major investment in extra showroom space in Dallas, Las Vegas and High Point to highlight its new Quick Ship Catalog program.
GuildMaster CEO Steve Crowder embarked on a much-publicized 15,000 mile journey across the U.S. last year to meet with over 200 individual dealers. One of the most significant things he kept hearing was the need for highly differentiated inventory that could be shipped immediately, not in weeks or months. In response, his team put together a Quick Ship Catalog of hundreds of the company's best-selling SKU's in accent furniture, accessories, lighting and wall art with the commitment to stocking $2 million worth of on-hand inventory in their Springfield, MO warehouse that could ship out within 48 hours. Now they are adding to that commitment with dedicated Quick Ship Showrooms in addition to their current space in Dallas, Las Vegas and High Point.
"Total U.S. retailer inventory levels were down double digits in 2009 as they tightened up to weather the storm," says Crowder. "They will be feeling the pinch when business comes back this year as we know it will, and we're going to be ready for them, encouraging dealers to use our warehouse as their own backstock."
The new Quick Ship Showrooms will be stocked with nothing but items from the Quick Ship Catalog that have proven their selling power and are available immediately. They are located in close adjacencies to their current spaces. At Dallas Market Center, they have added showroom 510 to their current space in 504. At World Market Center Las Vegas, they have added a premium atrium location on the 2nd Floor of Bldg A at 225 to their current space in 242. GuildMaster has also taken the center core in the ground floor of the C & D Building in High Point. In total, the spaces will approximately double their space at the three markets, all of them high visibility, high traffic positions. "We see no downside," adds Crowder. "Our sales were up 27% in Q4 2009 and we see no reason for that not to continue. It's time for everyone to start believing in this industry again!"
