Handelabra Studio Launches Couplett Mobile App

Couplett, a new photo app from mobile software company Handelabra Studio, is hitting the App Store on Wednesday, Feb. 8, to fix this dreaded picture-taking woe.

Users can now snap a photo in front and back, then put them together and share in a snap! After creating a fun composition using both the front- and rear-facing cameras, users can share their creations on Facebook, Twitter or Flickr.

Jeremy Handel, owner of Handelabra, developed the concept of the free app in the summer of 2011 while he was having lunch with his daughter and wanted to capture the moment.

"I was sitting across from my daughter at a restaurant and wanted to take a picture," said Handel. "I had to awkwardly lean over to take a photo of both me and my daughter and I thought, 'I have cameras on both sides of my phone, why can't we come up with an app that uses them both?'"

As a universal app, Couplett is available for any iOS device with a front-facing camera that is running iOS 5 or later including iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (4th Generation) and iPad 2.

With themes, the app allows users to customize their photos with new designs constantly being added. Starting with four basic themes (Basic Black, Basic White, Blur the Edges and Contact Sheet), users can also purchase additional themes, such as Comic Book and Corkboard, in packs of four to six within the app, ranging from $.99 to $1.99 each.
