TAMPA, Fla., May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- New Verizon FiOS customers in the Tampa Bay region now have a new choice for service bundles. They can opt to pay for a bundle on a month-to-month basis – at the same prices charged to customers with a term contract – with pricing certainty for one year and no early termination fee.
Additionally, Verizon on May 2 began offering a 30-day, risk-free guarantee period from the date of activation for new two-year contract customers, with no early termination fee during that time. The Peace of Mind Pledge – formerly known as the Verizon Service Commitment – adds month-to-month pricing to the company's well-received service-commitment practices.
"We have listened to the market and are responding with this month-to-month pricing plan for new customers," said Michelle Robinson, Verizon's Southeast region president. "When coupled with the Verizon Peace of Mind Pledge, consumers have even more control of their Verizon FiOS experience. We are delivering a better product and a vastly improved customer service experience – and giving customers the option to change their mind without being charged a fee."
Contrary to competitors' claims, Verizon has always offered month-to-month bundles, although at prices that were $20-$30 higher per month than the contract term bundles. Now new Florida-based customers can get the base FiOS bundle month-to-month, with no term contract or early termination fee, for $99.99 per month before taxes, fees and customer-selected service additions, such as multiple set-top boxes and premium channel choices.
Customers will also receive the Movie Package, featuring more than 40 channels including Encore, Flix, Showtime and Starz, free for six months. This matches the current Movie Package offer for new term-contract customers. The month-to-month option, which comes with pricing certainty for one year, also applies to other bundle offerings featuring higher broadband speeds both downstream and upstream, more HD programming and the selection of LaConexion as the sole TV component (for a base price of $89.99 per month).

In addition to the new month-to-month pricing plan, the Peace of Mind Pledge – available to all new FiOS customers – includes:
- Premium installation from professional, trained Verizon technicians with an appointment to fit the customer's schedule.
- In-home demonstration on how to use FiOS services.
- A 30-day post-installation pledge, including a contact number for the installing technician for any questions that may arise following installation.
- A follow-up satisfaction call from Verizon, during which an employee will check on the customer's FiOS experience and answer any questions a customer may have.
"For some customers, the perception of the term contract option as the only choice has been a barrier to purchasing FiOS," said Robinson. "With our a month-to-month option, we believe even more consumers will want to discover the amazing, market-leading performance of the FiOS all-fiber network and the innovative features available over that network, as well as the improvements we've made in service delivery."
