Head-Turning "Good Stuff Pet Truck" Rolls into Southern California Offering Free Dog Treats, Body Condition Exams and Dog-Training Demos

Dog enthusiasts can check out the Good Stuff Pet Truck, sponsored by Vita Bone® Biscuits and Supreme Source® grain-free dog food, on Wednesday, April 27, in Redondo Beach, Calif.; on Thursday, April 28, in Long Beach, Calif.; and on Saturday and Sunday, April 30 and May 1, in San Diego. Free dog body condition scoring (BCS) exams by a veterinarian, tips from a local dog trainer and dog treats await canines and their humans when this new, eye-catching dog lover's truck rolls into Redondo Beach Dog Park, Rosie's Dog Beach in Long Beach and the Ocean Villa Inn, located on Ocean Beach Dog Beach in San Diego. 

San Diego-based veterinarian Dr. Ruth MacPete – nationally known as "Dr. Ruth the Pet Vet" – will evaluate dogs' physical conditions and determine their BCS scores at Rosie's Dog Beach on April 28 and at Ocean Villa Inn on April 30 and May 1. This number indicates whether or not a dog is at its ideal weight.

A custom truck made just for dogs, the Good Stuff Pet Truck is stopping in cities across America this spring and summer to help educate pet owners about using positive reinforcement dog training to ensure their animals enjoy deliciously balanced lives.

Pet parents who stop by the Good Stuff Pet Truck may participate in free dog-training demos and Q&A sessions with a dog trainer as well as visit with Dr. Ruth about their dogs' physical condition. They'll also find a fun backdrop for a photo opp in the backyard-styled doggy lounge, complete with "grass" and picket fence. When it comes to training, dogs learn best through positive reinforcement because it teaches them desirable behaviors. Rewarding dogs with small treats and praise for things we want them to do motivates them to repeat those behaviors.
