AUSTIN, Texas, May 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Austin-based developer of convenience packaging technology, HeatGenie, announced today that it has finalized its multi-year Manufacturing Agreement with WANHO Manufacturing, LLC in Waterbury, Connecticut.

HeatGenie and WANHO have signed an agreement for WANHO to become a licensed manufacturer of the HeatGenie heater units. Under the agreement WANHO will sell heater units directly to HeatGenie's commercial partners, such as leading packager Crown Holdings.
WANHO has already installed heater assembly stations in their Waterbury plant and are prepared to meet the anticipated customer requirements for 2015. As part of a staged scale-up plan, WANHO is also working with an engineering firm specializing in automation to translate the manual process to a high speed, low cost manufacturing operation. Efficient automation is critical for a consumer product that is expected to reach annual volumes of hundreds of millions of units, a scale that is typical in packaged food and beverage. Initially all manufacturing will be in WANHO's Waterbury, CT facility, which could directly benefit economic development in the region.
