Helio Training Celebrates Diversity In STEM With Launch Of Women In Technology And Veteran Service Scholarships
SALT LAKE CITY, May 8, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Helio Training, Salt Lake City's premier in-person and online training resource for professionals looking to further their career through developing tech skills, announces two news scholarships aimed specifically at strengthening diversity within the tech sector: the Women in Technology Scholarship and Veteran Service Scholarship.
David Preece, director of operations, explains, "These are two specific groups of talented people that we know are repeatedly underutilized. We're grateful for the service and sacrifice of our country's service women and men; and we are also keenly aware that there are not enough women in STEM careers."
Preece says Helio is currently offering a $1,000 scholarship for all active duty, reserve, and veterans of the U.S. Military for Helio Training full-time programs, and a $500 scholarship towards the part-time programs. Each calendar year up to 10 women entering the tech industry will be awarded the Women in Technology Scholarship. Scholarships are available for $1,000 for full-time bootcamps and $500 for part-time bootcamps.
