 A significant majority—totaling 63 percent of the surveyed congressional staff members—indicated they either "strongly oppose" or "somewhat oppose" the concept of the United States government acquiring equity stakes in private companies dedicated to artificial intelligence product development and research.

The raw data reveals that a striking 67 percent of responding Democrats expressed they "strongly oppose" such measures, compared to 58 percent of Republican aides holding the same firm stance. When examining the demographic of those "somewhat opposed" to government equity stakes in AI, the partisan gap shifts significantly, representing 24 percent of Republican legislative staffers and only five percent of Democrats.
