BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Himplant® will host a three-day surgeon training program in Monterrey, Mexico, in November 2026, expanding access to specialized education for qualified Spanish-speaking physicians across Mexico and Latin America.
The program will be led by James Elist, M.D., inventor of the Himplant procedure, and Carlos Guerra, M.D., a Monterrey-based urologist and director of one of the leading Himplant® centers worldwide.
Specialized Training, Presented in Spanish
The program is designed to give surgeons a comprehensive understanding of the clinical, surgical and operational considerations involved in offering the Himplant cosmetic penile implant procedure.
Sessions will address patient selection, preoperative planning, surgical technique, operating-room workflow, postoperative care, complication management and long-term patient support.
By presenting the program in Spanish, participating physicians will be able to engage directly with faculty, discuss clinical decisions in detail and explore how the procedure may be responsibly incorporated into their practices.
"Interest in Himplant continues to grow throughout Latin America, and surgeons are looking for education that is detailed, practical and relevant to the patients they serve," said Dr. Guerra. "Hosting this program in Monterrey gives us the opportunity to create a strong learning environment for physicians from across the region."
More Than Surgical Technique
The course will also address patient communication, expectation management, practice preparation and the systems needed to support patients throughout consultation, surgery and recovery.
"Teaching a specialized procedure requires more than demonstrating the surgical steps," said Dr. Elist. "Surgeons must understand the judgment behind patient selection, careful planning and consistent postoperative care."
The Monterrey program follows Himplant's May 2026 Global Surgeon Training Course, which brought together 18 physicians from the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, and Chile.
The new course represents the next phase of Himplant's international physician education initiative and the continued development of regional training centers.
Qualified surgeons can learn more about the Himplant provider pathway, meet Carlos Guerra, M.D., or explore Himplant in Monterrey, Mexico.
Himplant® is an FDA-cleared cosmetic penile implant intended for appropriately screened adult men.
