
Hondros College Offers New Courses For Tax Professionals
CONTINUING EDUCATION AND EXAMINATION PREPARATION COURSES FULFILL NEW 2012 GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS
WESTERVILLE, Ohio, Sept. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Hondros College, an IRS-approved continuing education provider, announced today it will offer continuing education and examination preparation courses to registered tax professionals in Ohio who hold a preparer tax identification number (PTIN).
The courses are available for tax professionals, providing them options to meet the new government tax preparer's continuing education requirements and plan for the formal IRS examination.
Starting in 2012, government tax preparation requirements state anyone who possesses a PTIN or wishes to be a registered tax return preparer must pass the IRS competency examination by Dec. 31, 2013. The regulations further mandate that registered tax preparers renew their PTIN by completing 15 hours of continuing education by Dec. 31, 2012.

The 15-hour tax continuing education package is $219 and includes a two-hour ethics course, three-hour federal law update course and the 10-hour IRS competency examination preparation course, which also counts for CE credit. The 10-hour tax preparation examination package plus the online program CompuCram®, which offers hundreds of questions on examination topics and unlimited practice tests, is available for $199. CompuCram® Tax Prep is also individually available to all students for $59.
