FREDERICK, Md., Sept. 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Hood College is proud to announce that Dorian Elizabeth Knapp, Ph.D., professor of English and founding director of Hood's MFA in Creative Writing program, has published her third poetry collection, titled Causa Sui.
The book, released in September by Three Mile Harbor Press, an independent poetry press based in Stuyvesant, New York, has already garnered critical acclaim, winning the 8th Annual Three Mile Harbor Press Poetry Prize.
A public book launch and reading will be held on September 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Poets House in New York City. Knapp will also give a hometown reading on Hood College's campus on October 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre in the Tatem Arts Center. A book signing and reception will follow in the Hodson Gallery.
"I'm thrilled about the publication of this book and the chance to share it with Hood and the local community," says Knapp. "At a time when the arts and humanities are seriously under threat in this country, I'm grateful for small presses like Three Mile Harbor Press and for the wonderful literary community we've built here at Hood."
Visit Knapp's website for other local readings this fall at dorianelizabethknapp.com.
