Horseshoe Bay Resort Adds Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course to Its Portfolio of Championship Courses

HORSESHOE BAY, Texas, June 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Horseshoe Bay Resort announced today that Summit Rock, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, has been added to the company's portfolio of championship golf courses. This brings the resort's golf offerings to four professionally designed panoramic 18-hole courses, each of which incorporates the unique, natural terrain of the beautiful Texas Hill Country while providing holes playable for a variety of skill levels.

Horseshoe Bay Resort, named one of America's Best Golf Resorts by Golf Magazine, is already home to three championship Robert Trent Jones Sr. golf courses: Slick Rock, Ram Rock and Apple Rock. The late Jones Sr. designed an estimated 500 prestigious courses during his lifetime. His three creations for Horseshoe Bay Resort are among his finest works of art. The courses have all been featured in the "50 Best Courses in Texas" list in The Dallas Morning News every year since the origin of the annual ranking in 1989.

Jack Nicklaus, whose Nicklaus Design firm has already established a rich tradition of golf in Texas with close to a dozen courses opened over the last 25 years, including three of the top six in the state rankings, is certain to add to Horseshoe Bays Resort's golf legacy with his highly anticipated design of Summit Rock. The layout will be the only Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course to open in the U.S. this year.

Summit Rock will be available solely to Summit Rock Golf Club Members.

Jack Nicklaus has made numerous site visits to Summit Rock, which offers many unique features the Golden Bear himself envisioned and directed.
