Hortonworks Appoints Scott Davidson as its Chief Financial Officer

PALO ALTO, Calif., April 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Hortonworks^®, the leading provider of enterprise Apache™ Hadoop®, today announced the appointment of Scott Davidson to the position of chief financial officer. Scott is a well-recognized leader with more than 20 years of financial and business experience in both private and public high technology companies.

Effective immediately, Scott will become the first CFO of Hortonworks. He will be responsible for the continued building and shaping of the company's long-term financial model, accounting systems and internal controls. In addition, Scott will manage all administrative functions including finance, accounting, human resources, facilities and information systems.

Scott brings 20 years of senior financial leadership to Hortonworks. Most recently, he served as the CFO of Quest Software, a publicly traded systems management software company acquired by Dell. Previously, he held strategic financial roles within Citrix Systems and Precision Response Corporation including FP&A, Treasury, Investor Relations and Corporate Development. Before his software-focused career, he was a National Bank Examiner with the United States Department of Treasury - Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Scott holds an MBA from the University of Miami.
