Hospital gift shops get a refresh at University of Chicago Medicine
ST. LOUIS, May 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- HHP is celebrating the opening of its Hydra Health gift shops at University of Chicago Medicine.
The Hyde Park campus now has a Hydra Health gift shop at Bernard A. Mitchell Hospital as well as a kiosk at the Center for Care and Discovery, its flagship hospital. The kiosk was intentionally placed in the Sky Lobby where the family waiting areas are located. That way, families and visitors don't have to stray far to purchase gifts or essentials. Another Hydra Health gift shop is now open at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, IL.
For the refresh, Hydra Health focused on making the existing spaces lighter and brighter, easy to navigate, and stocked with a variety of drinks, snacks, conveniences like over the-counter meds, and – of course – cards, gifts and flowers.
"We love getting to know hospital communities and learning how we can become a bright spot in their day," said Marie Kloor, Founder of Hydra Health and SVP, Operations at HHP. "We've already been able to use employee feedback to inform product mix, which we'll continue to evolve to meet their needs."
A grand opening celebration will take place at the Hydra Health in Mitchell Hospital on Thursday, May 15 from 11am-2pm. Employees, patients and visitors can take advantage of free chair massages, a self-care pop-up, and 20% off any purchase of $10 or more.
