Hyundai Capital America Congratulates Its Diversity Award Winners
IRVINE, Calif., June 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai Capital America (HCA), a top-10 U.S. captive auto finance company that does business as Hyundai Motor Finance and Kia Motors Finance, is proud to recognize its recent diversity award winners.
2015 California Most Powerful and Influential Woman Award
Congratulations to Karen Moon, HCA's vice president, Servicing, who was selected by the National Diversity Council and the California Diversity Council to receive a "2015 California Most Powerful and Influential Woman Award" during the 6th Annual California Diversity & Leadership Conference on June 4.
"This award means a lot to me personally because I truly believe I would not have gotten here without help from so many people both at work and home," said Karen, who oversees the customer service operations functions and is responsible for driving customer satisfaction at HCA.
Karen has been with HCA since 2009. Prior to moving to Servicing, Karen led the Corporate Services department which included the Human Resources, Corporate Culture, and Facilities & Administration functions.

ACC Southern California Diversity Award
Congratulations also go to HCA's Legal department. In May, the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) presented them with the 2015 ACC Southern California Chapter Diversity Award, designed to recognize a law department that has demonstrated both the commitment and ability to improve the diversity of the legal profession in Southern California.
"In addition to representing and promoting diversity within HCA, Legal team members also dedicate numerous hours to legal programs devoted to providing assistance to minorities, and participate in the community on social issues involving diversity," said Carol Moore, vice president, Legal & Compliance and general counsel for HCA.
With this award the department was able to grant $10,000 to the charity of its choice. The department chose to give to the Orange County Chapter of CASA – Court Appointed Special Advocates.

"In four and a half years, I've seen HCA grow from around six hundred employees to over 1,700," said Carol. "Diversity among the company's new hires has also grown, from around 45% in 2005 to 77% this year. About 43% of our leadership roles are held by minorities, and members of minority groups make up the majority of management at our operations centers."
