IAC Names Darren MacDonald as CEO of Pronto

NEW YORK, Aug. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- IAC (Nasdaq: IACI) announced today that Darren MacDonald has been named Chief Executive Officer of Pronto. In this role, Mr. MacDonald will maintain strategic and operational oversight of the Pronto brands, including the recently-launched verticals ProntoStyle.com, ProntoHome.com, ProntoTech.com, ProntoKids.com and BabyPronto.com.

Mr. MacDonald succeeds John Foley, the previous CEO of Pronto who is leaving after more than 14 years at IAC. During his tenure, he served in various leadership positions with a number of IAC brands including Evite and Citysearch before co-founding Pronto 5 years ago.  John will work with Mr. MacDonald and the Pronto management team to ensure a smooth transition

Prior to this appointment, Mr. MacDonald served as Chief Operating Officer of Pronto where he oversaw Search Engine Marketing, Sales, Business Development and Public Relations and helped guide Pronto to a year of record sales and profitability.   Prior to Pronto, Mr. MacDonald led the Global Business Development efforts for Avery Dennison, a Fortune-500 consumer products company, where he created numerous successful online ventures and led partnership efforts with leading online and offline retail properties. Prior to that, Mr. MacDonald helped found EMN8, Inc., a venture backed technology and media company focused on the quick service restaurant and movie theater industries. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and holds an MBA from the University of California at Los Angeles.
