TORONTO, Feb. 5, 2015 /CNW/ - "Drive according to weather conditions." This is the important message Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) is sending with its newest road safety commercial starring Kelly Terry, forward for the Toronto Furies of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL).
"IBC is a proud sponsor of the CWHL's 2014/15 season and we were pleased to work with Kelly on our newest road safety commercial," said Ralph Palumbo, Vice-President, Ontario, IBC. "Sponsoring the CWHL not only gives us an opportunity to support some talented athletes but it is also an opportunity to share important road safety messages with a new audience."
As Kelly says in IBC's latest commercial, "Acceleration, tight manoeuvres, stopping. They take the right skills and equipment to master." Driving according to road conditions and being properly equipped is vital to the safety of everyone using the road.
"Our partnership with IBC has been outstanding," CWHL commissioner Brenda Andress said. "Their sponsorship support on its own has made a tremendous impact on our league, but when you add in the media on which we have collaborated, with such powerful safety messages, it has taken our league's profile to a whole new level."
Two exciting CWHL games are taking place in the Greater Toronto Area on Saturday, February 7, 2015. The Brampton Thunder will take on the Montreal Stars at 6:50 p.m. at Century Gardens in Brampton and the Toronto Furies will take on the Calgary Inferno at 7:30 p.m. at MasterCard Centre in Etobicoke. IBC's latest road safety commercial is one of two featuring CWHL stars.
