IBM SmartCloud for Government Receives FedRAMP Authorization from U.S. Federal Government

ARMONK, N.Y., Nov. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM's SmartCloud for Government, infrastructure as-a-service cloud platform, has been granted Provisional Authorization to Operate (P-ATO) from the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Joint Authorization Board (JAB).  With this approval, IBM's SmartCloud for Government has achieved all the current critical security authorizations required by the government ahead of the June 2014 government deadline.

The JAB is the primary governance group of the FedRAMP program, consisting of the chief information officers of the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. General Services Administration.
