IBM to Host Women in Cybersecurity Technical Seminar in Dallas

ARMONK, N.Y., April 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) will host a technical seminar for Women in Cybersecurity in Dallas, TX on April 23, 2017. This event will provide students in post-secondary educational institutions the opportunity to engage with IBM cybersecurity experts and learn more about career paths in this industry.

As security has evolved into a core issue for business and society, the demand for skilled professionals in this field continues to grow, with recent studies predicting a shortfall of 1.8 million open and unfilled cybersecurity positions by 2022.[1] Bringing more women into the security industry continues to be a missed opportunity to address the growing skills gap, with women representing only 11% of the current global information security workforce.[2]

This full-day seminar will provide opportunities for women to participate in workshops to learn skills needed for security careers, engage in panel discussions, hear from keynote speakers and network with industry professionals.
